RCMP probes Chipman ATM theft
Police issue public plea for tips in identifying suspects recorded hauling door off business
Two perpetrators used a pickup truck to wrench the front door off a Chipman business and stole an ATM last week, the RCMP reports, and they’re hoping the public can help identify them.

“The break, enter and theft is believed to have occurred on Oct. 3, 2024, between 4:20 a.m. and 4:40 a.m., at a business on Main Street in Chipman,” the RCMP’s Minto detachment said in a news release Tuesday.
“Two individuals forcibly gained entry to the business by pulling off the front door with a truck and stole an automatic teller machine (ATM) machine.”
The Mounties released still images of security footage from the business, hoping members of the public might recognize the two suspects.
“Both suspects were wearing dark clothing, a mask and gloves,” the release said.
“They were travelling in a black truck.”

The RCMP is urging anyone who lives in the area who may have witnessed suspicious activity around the time of the break-in, who might have surveillance footage from that time, or who has any other relevant information to call the Minto RCMP detachment at 506-327-1820.
