Rainfall warning issued for Sunday
Environment and Climate Change Canada says southern New Brunswick to see 25-45 mm
The southern part of the province - including the capital region - is in for a soaking Sunday, according to the federal weather service.
Environment and Climate Change Canada’s weather service issued a rainfall warning Saturday for all of southern New Brunswick, pointing to a system set to hit the area Sunday.
Fredericton and surrounding communities are included under this rainfall warning.
“Rain, heavy at times is expected,” the warning statement said, noting that it’ll start falling Sunday morning and will continue into Sunday night.
“Precipitation will begin as snow before changing to rain with some light accumulations possible, especially over higher terrain.”
The weather service noted the rainfall could total in the range of 25 to 45 millimetres Sunday.
The advisory warned that localized flooding will be possible in low-lying areas.
The New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization also shared the weather warning on its social-media feeds Saturday.
