Province under weekend heat warning
Environment and Climate Change Canada issues alert about warm, humid conditions
Almost every area of New Brunswick is forecast to see weekend weather that’ll be so hot and humid that it could pose a health risk, according to the federal weather service.
Environment and Climate Change Canada’s weather service issued a heat warning Thursday, advising of high heat and humidity expected to last for three days.

It warned of an extended period of warm and humid weather, starting Friday and continuing through to Sunday.
The advisory was issued for all regions of the province, save for the Fundy Coast. The heat warning is also expected to be lifted Saturday in northwestern New Brunswick rather than Sunday for the rest of the province.
Maximum temperatures in the province are forecast to reach 28 to 30 C on the weekend, with humidex values at 36 to 38 C, though it will be cooler along coastal areas.
Nighttime lows are expected to be 16 to 18 C, the weather service said.
“Check several times a day on older family, friends and neighbours. Make sure they are cool and drinking water,” the heat warning said.
“Never leave people, particularly children, or pets inside a parked vehicle.”
