Police probe rash of mailbox break-ins
Force has received complaints about numerous postal thefts across Fredericton in recent weeks, urges members of public to report any other instances or other relevant information
The Fredericton Police Force says it’s dealing with numerous reports of mailbox break-ins across the capital in the past few weeks, and it’s looking for information on other such crimes.
“Over the past few weeks, the Fredericton Police Force has received multiple complaints about mail theft due to mailbox break-ins in various neighborhoods across the city,” the force posted on social media Tuesday morning.
As part of its investigations into the mail thefts, it said, police are calling on members of the public to relay any information about similar incidents that may not have been brought to the force’s attention as yet.
Anyone who’s been a victim of mail theft or who otherwise has information about those crimes is urged to contact the police force by calling its non-emergency line at 506-460-2300 or emailing Const. Al Irvine at alan.irvine@fredericton.ca.
