Pedestrian hit in downtown intersection
Fredericton police advised of traffic disruption due to accident at Regent St., McLeod Ave.
An intersection in downtown Fredericton was closed to traffic for much of Monday afternoon as officers investigated a collision between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian, police report.
The Fredericton Police Force issued a traffic advisory through social media at about 2:15 p.m. Monday.
“Please be advised that the intersection of Regent Street and McLeod Avenue is closed to traffic for the next two to three hours due to a motor vehicle versus pedestrian collision,” it said.
“The pedestrian has been transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”
The intersection in question is located in front of the downtown Sobeys location.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area or to expect delays, as the force’s accident reconstruction team was on scene conducting its investigation.
The police force announced at 3:50 p.m. that the intersection was once again open to traffic.
