Parts of province under rainfall warning
Up to 50 to 70 millimetres of precipitation forecast for central, southern New Brunswick
The federal weather service has issued a rainfall warning for parts of New Brunswick, advising that circumstances could lead to some localized flooding.
Environment and Climate Change Canada’s weather service issued the alert for central and southern areas of the province Saturday afternoon, warning that rain was expected Saturday night, and it could be heavy at times.

As much as 50 to 70 millimetres of rain is possible in affected regions, which include Fredericton and southern York County, Oromocto and Sunbury County, Fundy National Park, Grand Lake and Queens County, Grand Manan and coastal Charlotte County, Saint John and County, St. Stephen and northern Charlotte County, the Stanley/Doaktown/Blackville area, Sussex, the Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County, and Woodstock and Carleton County.
“Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible,” the warning stated.
The rain is expected to taper to isolated showers early Sunday morning, and then only light rain is expected Sunday night.
