An Oromocto man pleaded not guilty to a litany of criminal charges from last year, and he’ll have to await his trial dates on remand in provincial jail.

Alexander James Broome, 23, of Deer Park in Oromocto, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by telephone from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre on Wednesday to answer a long list of charges.

Legal-aid staff lawyer Bronwyn Mooney appeared on his behalf as well, though she noted she won’t be defence counsel at trial.

She said Broome was electing to be tried in provincial court and entering not-guilty pleas on all counts before the court.
