A man and woman from Oromocto are heading to trial after denying criminal and quasi-criminal charges Friday that they wilfully or recklessly neglected a dog in their care.

Justin Paul M. MacFadyen, 30, and Melissa Victoria Matheson, 29, both of Maclaren Drive in Oromocto, were charged by the New Brunswick SPCA earlier this year with one count each under the Criminal Code of Canada and one under the provincial SPCA Act.

Though charged separately, both are accused of failing to provide adequate and suitable food for a dog Nov. 15.
