RCMP reports single-vehicle accident in Waterville-Carleton claimed Jacksontown man’s life
A driver is dead after a single-vehicle crash up river Saturday morning, the RCMP says.
The Western Region valley detachment of the RCMP issued a news release Saturday afternoon advising that officers responded to the scene of an accident in Waterville-Carleton, about 15 kilometres north of Woodstock, earlier in the morning.
It said a 40-year-old man from Jacksontown - also near Woodstock - died at the scene, noting he was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
“On Oct. 12, at approximately 7:50 a.m., members of the Western Valley Region RCMP, Ambulance New Brunswick and the Hartland Fire Department responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Route 590 in Waterville-Carleton,” the release said..
“The crash is believed to have occurred when the vehicle left the road, went down a large embankment and came to a stop in a brook.”
An RCMP collision reconstructionist and a representative with the New Brunswick coroner's office are assisting with the ongoing investigation, the RCMP reported, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
