Moncton man riding motorcycle killed when he lost control, hit guard rail, Mounties report
A single-vehicle crash in Perth-Andover on Sunday afternoon claimed the life of a motorcyclist from Moncton, the RCMP reports.
The Western Valley Region detachment issued a news release Tuesday morning, advising of a fatal motorcycle crash Sunday in which a 26-year-old Moncton man was killed.
“On Sept. 15, 2024, at approximately 3:53 p.m., members of the Perth-Andover RCMP responded to a report of a single-motorcycle crash next to Highway 2 in Perth-Andover,” the release said.
“The crash is believed to have occurred when the driver lost control of the motorcycle, left the roadway, struck a guardrail and was ejected from his motorcycle.”
He was alone on the motorcycle, the RCMP said.
The biker was taken to hospital, it said, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Ambulance personnel also attended the scene, the release said, and an RCMP collision reconstructionist and a representative with the New Brunswick Coroner's office are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, the RCMP said.
