N.S. man accused of child-porn crimes in Fredericton
Counsel appeared Tuesday on behalf of Corey Harvey, 37, who’s charged with making and possessing illegal pornographic material
A Nova Scotia man stands accused of making child pornography and possessing it in Fredericton over the course of more than six years.
Corey Harvey, 37, of Parsons Road in Port Greville, N.S., had his first appearance in Fredericton provincial court Wednesday on two counts: making and possessing child pornography in Fredericton between Nov. 10, 2015, and March 30, 2022.
Harvey wasn’t present in court when his case was called, but Fredericton defence lawyer Patrick Hurley appeared on his behalf and requested an adjournment of the election of mode of trial and pleas.
“We don’t have Crown disclosure at this point,” Hurley said.
However, he noted he’d filed an undertaking with the court related to the defence’s obligations about refraining from disseminating or releasing the sensitive material that’s included in the evidence against his client.
Prosecutor Rachel Anstey said the Crown was just waiting on that undertaking, so the disclosure was ready.
Judge Natalie LeBlanc set the case over to May 18.
Each of the two charges against Harvey carries a mandatory minimum jail term of one year in the event of conviction.

1 year? Why bother. In the United States he would be facing a minimum of 20 years.
Don’t think he ended up doing a full two. Good behaviour for him out earlier
