A Nova Scotia man had to appear in Fredericton court by telephone Wednesday to face a break-in charge because he’s under house arrest back home, court heard.

Joshua Christopher Cheeseman, 28, of Waldeck, N.S., about 215 kilometres west of Halifax, was scheduled for his initial court appearance in Fredericton on Wednesday.

He faces an RCMP charge of break, enter and theft at the Lakeside Campground office and canteen in Waterborough, N.B., about 70 kilometres east of Fredericton, near Mill Cove.

He’s also accused of breaching a release order issued by a Nova Scotia court requiring him to remain in that province.
