Northside man admits to firearms crimes
Benjamin Robert Hayden, 31, of Fredericton, also pleads guilty to possessing stolen SUV
A Fredericton man will be sentenced early next year after admitting to crimes involving a defaced shotgun and a stolen crossover SUV.
Benjamin Robert Hayden, 31, of Canada Street, was scheduled to stand trial next month on indictable firearms offences and a stolen-property charge.
He’d previously pleaded not guilty to possessing of a Cooey 12-gauge shotgun knowing its serial number had been defaced, possession of a prohibited weapon (the same shotgun) without a licence, possession of it as a non-restricted firearm without a licence and storing that shotgun improperly, all on July 4, 2023, in Fredericton.
