A Fredericton man who was released on conditions pending sentencing after court heard he’d already served enough time is back behind bars for skipping a court proceeding that would have concluded his case.

William Bruce Joncas, 47, formerly of Irvine Street, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by telephone from the Fredericton Police Force station cellblock Tuesday after being picked up on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Judge Scott Brittain issued that warrant March 5 when Joncas was absent for his scheduled sentencing hearing March 5.

Joncas had previously pleaded guilty to uttering threats and possessing a knife for the purpose of committing an offence, charges that arose after a standoff with city police officers at his Irvine Street apartment building Oct. 15.
