A Noonan man has new defence counsel on child-pornography charges, the same lawyer recently assigned to represent him on sexual-assault and molestation allegations.
Donald Ashley MacPherson, 65, of Hughes Street in Noonan, was back in Fredericton provincial court Friday for a monitoring proceeding on charges of accessing child pornography between Feb.12 and April 16, 2023, and possessing it May 3.
He’d previously been represented by Hampton defence lawyer Joshua Adams, but that lawyer was removed from the record last month after a breakdown in the solicitor-client relationship.
Adams was also removed as MacPherson’s counsel on two counts alleging he sexually assaulted two underage girls, two alleging he touched them and two that he sexually exploited them, between October 2022 and March 2023.
