Murder suspect gets new defence counsel
Lawyer Nathan Gorham says Corey Agnew, 35, of Minto, now consents to him, his firm being removed from record in homicide case; lawyer T.J. Burke signs on to represent him
A Minto man accused of killing two people whose bodies were found in a burning vehicle last fall has new defence counsel in the case, a judge approved his previous lawyer’s request to withdraw.
Corey Agnew, 35, of Willow Drive in Minto, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by video from the Southeast Regional Correctional Centre in Shediac on Friday for a monitoring proceeding in his case.
He faces two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Robert (Robbie) Wayne Waugh, 47, and Victoria King, 23, whose bodies were found in an SUV that was set ablaze and found on Midland Road in Midland, near Chipman, the morning of Nov. 25.
