Mounties probe rail sabotage attempts in Tracy
Unknown party placed obstacles on train tracks in mid-April in what could have been dangerous instances of mischief, RCMP reports
Police are hoping members of the public can provide tips about the person or persons responsible for creating a potentially dangerous situation on railway tracks in Tracy last month.
The Oromocto detachment of the RCMP issued a news release Friday advising that officers are investigating a report of mischief that could have had disastrous consequences.
“On April 14, 2023, police responded to a report of mischief on the railway in Tracy, N.B.,” the release said. “In two separate incidents, someone placed debris on the train tracks, which can lead to an extremely dangerous situation.”
The RCMP reported the incidents are believed to have happened between 7 p.m. April 13 and 5 a.m. April 14.
The Mounties are urging anyone with relevant information about these incidents to contact the Oromocto detachment by phone at 506-357-4300.

The RCMP investigation into the rail mischief is ongoing, the release said.
