More than $100K in drugs seized - cops
Three people arrested in operation that led to discovery of narcotics, ammo and more than $10,000 in cash; one suspect - Ian Keith Edwards, 26 - has been remanded for bail hearing
The Fredericton Police Force reports that more than a kilogram of meth and half a pound of cocaine was seized in a police operation last week that also led to the arrests of three suspects.
The city police force issued a news release Tuesday afternoon about “a targeted operation” Sept. 9 that saw officers with its integrated enforcement unit (IEU) execute search warrants at two locations in the city - one on the south side and another on the north side.

With support from members from the patrol division and the emergency response team, IEU officers seized drugs with an estimated street value of more than $100,000, along with more than $10,000 in cash as well as ammunition, the release said.
Three people were arrested during the operation, the force reported - Ian Keith Edwards, 26, of Fredericton, who was remanded into custody, as well as another 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman.
The latter two suspects were released on promises to appear in court at a later date.
Edwards has been charged with possession of cocaine; methamphetamine and fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime; and violations of a court-ordered driving prohibition, a prohibition against possessing ammunition and probation.
He’s due back in Fredericton provincial court Thursday for a bail hearing.
The release said the two other suspects are expected to face similar counts.
The police force said among the items seized in the two searches were more than a kilogram of methamphetamine, about 220 grams of cocaine, about seven grams of fentanyl, more than $10,000 in cash, 22-calibre ammunition, and various drug-related paraphernalia, such as packaging materials, digital scales and cutting agents.
IEU teams consist of members of New Brunswick’s nine municipal police forces, Mounties and peace officers with the provincial Department of Justice and Public Safety, and their goals are to disrupt violence, illegal firearms use and drug trafficking.
