Missing Swan Creek man found dead
RCMP reports body of Leo Hartt, 43, who was reported missing July 3, has been located
A Swan Creek man who’d been missing since early this month has been found deceased, the RCMP’s Oromocto detachment reports.
The local detachment issued a news release July 6, seeking tips from the public on the whereabouts of Leo Hartt, 43, of Swan Creek, a community about 20 kilometres west of Oromocto.
“Leo Hartt was last seen on July 3, 2024 at 7:45 a.m., at a business located on Restigouche Road in Oromocto, N.B.,” the release said.
“Police have followed up on several leads to try to locate him but have so far been unsuccessful. Police and his family are concerned for his well-being.”
However, in a followup advisory Tuesday morning, the RCMP announced Hartt had been found deceased.
“Our thoughts are with the man's family, friends, and community at this time,” it said.
The followup release made no mention of whether criminality is suspected in his death or if a police investigation is underway.
It also didn’t indicate where or when Hartt’s body was found.
