Minto man accused of firearms offences
Robert Glen Smith, 41, accused of violence toward intimate partner, released on conditions
A Minto man accused of reckless use of a firearm and other related offences was released from custody on strict conditions Thursday morning, including electronic monitoring.
Robert Glen Smith, 41, of Memorial Drive, appeared in Fredericton provincial court earlier this week for a bail hearing after he was arrested on the weekend and charged with several indictable offences.
He’s accused of using a rifle in a careless manner; possessing non-restricted firearms (a Browning Arms Co. BLR rifle and a Savage Arms/Emhart Corp. 64 rifle) with a licence and knowing that he didn’t have a licence for them; improper storage of firearms; and mischief causing damage to a 2004 Honda CRV belonging to Charyna Gallant, a former intimate partner.
