A McAdam man barrelled down rural roads in a stolen semi-truck, tried to ram a Mountie with it, cut up the officer’s arm and bit another RCMP member, a court heard Wednesday.

Jarret Wayne Baxter, 22, of Beech Street, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by video conference from jail Wednesday morning for a sentencing hearing.

He previously pleaded guilty to counts of assault causing bodily harm to RCMP Const. Evan Elgee, assault on RCMP Const. Frederic Martineau, flight from police, dangerous driving and possession of a stolen semi-truck belonging to Sunbury Transport Ltd.
