McAdam burglar busted with video, DNA
Brady Leon Mackey, 27, identified as perpetrator from security footage, discarded bottle
A McAdam man who broke into an auto shop two years ago was caught on video, which showed he drank from a bottle he left at the scene, providing police with DNA evidence, court heard Tuesday.
Brady Leon Mackey, 27, formerly of West Street in McAdam, appeared in Fredericton provincial court in person and in custody for a sentencing hearing Tuesday.
He pleaded guilty last month to break-in and theft charges.
Crown prosecutor Geoffrey Hutchin said RCMP officers were dispatched to McAdam Auto Repair on North Lane in the village in the early-morning hours of July 23 after the owner got an alert that there was movement on his security cameras inside the business.
