Masturbating stepdad’s appeal dismissed
34-year-old Temperance Vale man challenged conviction, sentence for crime against girl
A Temperance Value man seeking to overturn his conviction or reduce his sentence for trying to get his girlfriend’s daughter to touch him while he masturbated in the shower saw his case dismissed Tuesday.
A 34-year-old man appeared in the Court of King’s Bench at the Burton Courthouse on Monday for his appeal on a summary conviction for sexual exploitation.
The charge stemmed from an interaction the offender had with his girlfriend’s daughter at the family home the night of Nov. 20, 2021.
There’s a court-ordered publication ban in the case protecting the girl’s identity, and given the relationship, the Fredericton Independent isn’t identifying the appellant so as to comply with that order.
