A U.S. resident facing a long list of charges alleging a variety of offences finally had counsel to defend him last week, but there was one problem: there was no one present to defend.

Stephane Remy Robichaud, 51, of Hannah Street in Caribou, Maine, was scheduled to be back in Fredericton provincial court Thursday to answer to numerous charges dating back to 2021.
