Rodney Michael Dickinson, 53, of Chipman, faces long list of charges after RCMP advised Grand Lake residents Sunday evening to hunker down in their locked homes
Why did the RCMP not release the suspects name in their description when they sent out their warning? Looks like they knew it and could even have added a photo.
In general, the police don't release a suspect's name until a charge is laid in court - and for good reason. There are limited exceptions. It appears the RCMP felt this didn't fit the bill, or perhaps they couldn't confirm the information to a sufficient certainty to merit its release.
Please refrain from speculating on potential motives for the alleged offences. Mr. Dickinson remains innocent until proven guilty, and gossip can only serve to taint the process.
Great reporting - should be interesting as to why the suspect was going after the victim.
lots of misinformation/gossip out in the area - I guess we will find out what his little rampage stemmed from soon enough.
I agree Mary Finn
Got to love Minto, at least it's interesting..
