A capital-region resident accused of a violent attack with a knife two weeks ago has been released from custody on strict conditions.

Gage Nason DeGrace-Whitlock, 18, of no fixed address, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Thursday afternoon by video conference from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre, scheduled to go through a bail hearing.

He faces indictable charges alleging he assaulted Monte Dickeson with a knife, assaulted him and thereby caused bodily harm, possessed a knife with the intent of committing an indictable offence and breached a court order prohibiting him from possessing weapons, all in Fredericton on April 26.
