Kilburn man killed in Juniper crash - RCMP
Police believe single-vehicle accident occurred Sunday when driver failed to negotiate turn
A motorist from Kilburn was killed Sunday afternoon after a single-vehicle accident up river in Juniper, the RCMP reported Tuesday.
The Western Valley Region detachment of the RCMP issued a news release Tuesday morning advising of a Sunday accident that claimed the life of a 38-year-old man from Kilburn, about 65 kilometres north of Woodstock.
“On April 20, at approximately 1 p.m., members of the Western Valley Region RCMP detachment responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Route 107 in [nearby] Juniper,” the release said.
“The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The crash is believed to have occurred when the vehicle failed to navigate a turn during the early-morning hours.”
Among those attending the scene along with Mounties were members of the Juniper Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick personnel, it said, and a representative from the New Brunswick coroner’s office and an RCMP collision reconstructionist are assisting with the investigation.
“An autopsy will be conducted to determine the man’s exact cause of death,” the release said.
