Preston Allen, 34, died after fall from scaffolding at home under construction in Fredericton
A coroner’s inquest into the December 2021 death of a construction worker on a jobsite in Fredericton will be held in a few weeks’ time, the province announced Friday.
The Department of Justice and Public Safety, which includes the New Brunswick coroner’s office, issued a news release Friday announcing that an inquest into the death of Preston Allen will be held March 3-7 at the University of New Brunswick Law School on the university campus.
Allen, 34, died at the site of a home under construction on Brighton Court in Fredericton on Dec. 6, 2021, after he fell from a scaffolding in snowy, inclement weather.
Such inquests are formal court proceedings that allow for evidence relating to deaths to be heard in a public venue.
