Inmate faces assault, intimidation charges

A federal inmate serving a seven-year stint for drug and stolen-property crimes is now facing charges alleging violence against his ex before he was locked up and harassment since being incarcerated.
Jason Peter Mollins, 42, of Fredericton, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Monday by video conference from a federal penitentiary, scheduled to answer to newly laid charges.
He’s accused of assaulting Taylor Elizabeth Moore by choking her in Fredericton between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2022; assaulting her and assaulting her with a knife between Nov. 1, 2022, and Jan. 31, 2023, again in Fredericton; assaulting Moore in the capital between Feb. 1 and June 1, 2023, and again between May 1 and Aug. 31, 2023; and assaulting Moore in Nackawic between June 12 and 16, 2023.
Furthermore, he faces more recent counts, alleged to have occurred while he’s been incarcerated.
