Injurious drunk-driving case headed to trial
Samuel Havugimana, 41, of Fredericton, denies charges stemming from July 31 crash
A Fredericton man accused of smashing into another vehicle while he was impaired and inflicting serious harm to a woman denied the allegations Wednesday.
Samuel Havugimana, 41, of Carman Avenue, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Wednesday with defence lawyer Michael Mallory to answer to serious charges alleging impaired driving.
Havigumana, who participated in the proceedings with the aid of a Kirundi interpreter, is accused of alternate charges of impaired driving causing bodily harm to Beth Wallace and having an elevated blood-alcohol level with two hours of driving and causing bodily harm to her July 31.
