A St. Thomas University religious-studies professor who was scheduled to stand trial this week on indecent-act allegations is no longer facing those criminal charges.

Alexandra Bain, 68, of Charles Avenue, pleaded not guilty earlier this year to two counts of  wilfully committing indecent acts with intent to insult or offend some other person, both alleged to have occurred June 8, 2023, in Fredericton.

Her trial was set down in Fredericton provincial court for Tuesday, but it didn’t proceed, apparently for several reasons.

Bain wasn’t present in court.
