Incest suspect opts for superior-court trial
54-year-old man from Grand Lake area accused of sexual offences against daughter
A Grand Lake-area man accused of sexually abusing his daughter a decade ago elected Friday to be tried in a higher level of court.
The 54-year-old man appeared in Fredericton provincial court Friday along with defence lawyer Edward Derrah to answer several sex-related charges.
The complainant in the case is the suspect’s daughter, and there’s a court-ordered publication ban protecting her identity.

Given the connection between them, the Fredericton Independent isn’t naming the defendant either so as to comply with the court order.
