Fredericton Police Force Const. Jenna Scott and RCMP Sgt. Marie-Philip Dumont will be facing off later this week along with fellow officers from their respective forces.

But there’s no bad blood between the Mounties and the city cops. Instead, they’re challenging one another for a good cause.

Hockey teams made up of Fredericton Police Force and RCMP officers will take to the ice Thursday in a charity game aimed to benefit Liberty Lane, an organization that helps women who have been victims of domestic violence and abusive relationships to get fresh starts.

While policing is a male-dominated profession and most of the players on the two teams are men, there are a few women lacing up their skates as well.
