‘I’m gonna die in here’
As he pleads not guilty to long list of charges, including robbery, Robert (Robbie) Keith MacDonald, 47, irks judge with constant interruptions, repeated demands to be released
A Fredericton man accused of robbery and an indecent act pleaded with a court over and over to be released from custody last week, to the point that a judge raised his voice, insisting he stop interrupting the proceedings.
Robert (Robbie) Keith MacDonald, 47, of no fixed address, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Thursday by telephone from a remand facility, scheduled to elect mode of trial on indictable charges and enter pleas.
The most serious of the charges he’s facing is one of robbery, alleging he attempted to steal from Krista Ryan on Feb. 11 and used threats of violence to do so, as well as a related count of probation violation.
He’s also accused of assaulting a minor, committing an indecent act at Dairy Queen on Prospect Street and breaching a probation order June 25; trespassing at Dairy Queen on Union Street Aug. 29; stealing a jacket belonging to Gabriel Menga Dec. 16; and stealing merchandise from Shoppers Drug Mart on Main Street on Jan. 10.
