Human remains found at landfill - cops
Officers at Fredericton Region Solid Waste Commission facility after receiving report Monday morning; police force offering scant details thus far as investigation continues
The Fredericton Police Force says officers are investigating at the city landfill Monday after human remains were discovered at the facility.
“On Monday, March 11, 2024 at 10:48 a.m., Fredericton Police Force members responded to the Fredericton Region Solid Waste Commission for a report of human remains discovered at the landfill,” the force said in a brief news release Monday afternoon.
“The Fredericton Police Force continues to investigate.”
Officers had cleared out of the scene at the landfill by mid-afternoon Monday.
Solid waste commission staff weren’t permitting people Monday afternoon to travel to the area where the remains were discovered, located at the back of the landfill.
