Another downtown Fredericton business has fallen victim to a crime causing it damage and forcing it to close its doors, and its owner says something has to be done to deal with the problem.

William’s Seafood, located on the Exhibition Grounds on Smythe Street, announced on Facebook on Thursday morning that it would be closed temporarily until further notice due to a break-in.

“Sometime early [Thursday] morning vandals entered the restaurant and did some extensive damage,” the post said.

“We are taking care of all necessary procedures and precautions at this time so that we can open safely again soon.”

The Fredericton Police Force confirmed Thursday officers were investigating the incident.
