Homeless woman barred from owning animals
Horse carcasses found down on Currieburg property of Charlotte H. Bright, 77, in April 2023; she pleaded guilty earlier this year to causing them unnecessary pain and suffering
A woman who admitted neglecting horses to the point that they died last year was prohibited Monday from owning any animals for the rest of her life.
Charlotte H. Bright, 77, formerly of Currieburg Road in Currieburg, pleaded guilty in the Court of King’s Bench in April to criminal counts of neglecting horses by failing to provide them with adequate food, water, shelter and care; and causing those horses unnecessary pain or suffering.
She was back before Justice Thomas Christie at the Burton Courthouse on Monday for her sentencing hearing.
