Heat warning persists into Monday
Relief from hot weather coming Tuesday, says Environment and Climate Change Canada
The heat warning that was in effect starting Friday and that was supposed to end Sunday is continuing into the New Brunswick Day holiday on Monday, according to the federal weather service.
Environment and Climate Change Canada’s weather service had issued a heat warning for most of the province, indicating it was to run from Friday to Sunday.
But a heat warning remains in effect for central and southern parts of New Brunswick on Monday.

“Very warm and humid conditions continue today, cooler and less humid on Tuesday,” the alert issued early Monday morning stated.
It indicated the maximum daytime temperature in the Fredericton region would be 28 C, with a humidex approaching 36 C.
“Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion,” the warning said.
It advised people to check frequently on older family members, friends and neighbours to ensure they’re cool and staying hydrated.
“Never leave people, particularly children, or pets inside a parked vehicle,” the advisory said.
