Halifax man acquitted in sex-assault case
Teenage girl who accused Aaron Wilson, 40, of forced sex in 2023 wasn’t reliable witness given gaps in her memory, judge rules, while defendant’s testimony was logical, believable
A judge said Monday gaps in a teenage girl’s memory and inconsistencies in her testimony made her an unreliable witness in the trial of the man accused of sexually assaulting her in 2023.
Aaron Wilson, 41, of Bishop Street in Halifax, stood trial in Fredericton provincial court in January and February on Aug. 6, 2023, charges of sexual assault and sexual interference.

He was back before Judge Natalie LeBlanc on Monday to hear her decision on trial.
She reviewed the evidence as she detailed her reasons.
