Geary woman admits to lesser drug charges
Katie Jaclyn Stewart, 42, originally charged with possession of narcotics for purpose of trafficking, but admitted to simple possession charges; sentencing set for November
A Geary woman scheduled to stand trial this week on allegations of possessing hard drugs for trafficking purposes opted instead to admit to lesser crimes.
Katie Jaclyn Stewart, 42, of Colburne Drive, was charged last year with April 12, 2023, counts of possession of methamphetamine, Dilaudid and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, as well as possession of a stolen Honda Civic and careless storage of shotgun shells.
She elected to be tried in provincial court and pleaded not guilty last year, and her trial was set to take place Tuesday.
