Gazebo-arson suspect denies charge
Jesse Cole Jackson, 36, of no fixed address, still doesn’t have defence counsel, court hears
A transient man is headed to trial on an allegation that he torched a historic gazebo in a downtown Fredericton park, but he’s yet to retain counsel to represent him.
Jesse Cole Jackson, 36, of no fixed address, was back on the Fredericton provincial court docket Tuesday to answer to a charge of arson, alleging he caused damage by fire to a gazebo in Wilmot Park in Fredericton on July 2.

Jackson appeared in court by telephone, though he’s not in custody on the charge.
Duty counsel Melina Ponting-Moore said she’d spoken with the defendant, and he was prepared to elect mode of trial and plead.
