Fredericton man faces charges in Woodstock
Vinal Todd Hatto, 40, was denied bail last week on stolen-property, driving allegations
A Fredericton man will remain in custody on charges he’s facing after an encounter with police up river, according to the RCMP.
The Western Region Valley detachment of the RCMP issued a news release Monday after officers effected the arrest of a Fredericton man near Woodstock last week.

“On May 28, 2025, at approximately 3:46 a.m., members of the Western Valley Region RCMP stopped a motorcycle travelling on Route 165 in Lower Woodstock,” the release said.
“The driver and sole occupant of the motorcycle fled on foot towards a wooded area. Shortly after, police located and arrested a 40-year-old man without incident.”
The RCMP reported that officers seized significant quantities of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine and ecstasy, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Furthermore, the motorcycle had previously been reported as stolen, the release said.
The accused - Vinal Todd Hatto, 40, of Fredericton - appeared in Woodstock provincial court later in the day on May 28 and was charged with possession of stolen property of a value greater than $5,000, flight from police, resisting arrest and a breach of a court order prohibiting him from driving.
He was remanded for a bail hearing, the RCMP stated, and after that proceeding on Thursday, a judge denied bail.
Hatto is slated to return to Woodstock provincial court to elect mode of trial and enter pleas June 19.
