Fredericton man denies bogus 911 charge
Connor Riley MacIntosh, 18, is still pursuing a legal aid application, but pleaded not guilty to counts of fabricating evidence, filing false police report
A Fredericton man denied allegations Monday that he concocted a fake 911 call and text messages as part of a plan to report a crime that never happened.
Connor Riley MacIntosh, 18, of Forest Hill Road, faces Nov. 20 charges of fabricating a 911 phone call and text messages intending that they be used as evidence in a proposed judicial proceeding, making a false report and violating a probation order.
He’s also accused of driving while prohibited and violating a probation order, both on Christmas Eve.
All charges allege events in Fredericton on the dates in question.
MacIntosh pleaded not guilty to all counts Monday.
Duty counsel Melinda Ponting-Moore said MacIntosh is still in the process of applying for legal aid.
As such, Judge Lucie Mathurin, rather than scheduling trials on the various charges, set the case over to May 8 to see if the defendant has secured defence counsel before setting dates.
MacIntosh was a no-show for his first appearance on the charges in early February, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
That warrant was executed, but MacIntosh was released again on conditions.
As a result, he faces a count of breaching an undertaking by failing to attend court Feb. 3, and he denied that charge as well Monday.
