Fredericton jewelry thief jailed
Jennifer Marie Sharpe, 44, withdraws request for community-based conditional sentence
A Fredericton woman who stole from the jewelry store where she was working in 2023 to feed her drug habit is behind bars this week.
Jennifer Marie Sharpe, 44, of Burpee Street, was back in Fredericton provincial court Wednesday for a decision on sentence.
She’d previously pleaded guilty to stealing merchandise from Spicer Cole Fine Jewelry between Feb. 1, 2023, and Jan. 1, 2024.
Court heard previously she’d been employed at the Woodstock Road store at the time, and had stolen two rings and a number of gold chains, which she pawned for cash at Evergreen Traders on Main Street.
