Fredericton drug dealer pleads guilty
Jason Mollins, 40, to be sentenced later this year for meth, cocaine, hydromorphone and fentanyl possession for purpose of trafficking, as well as firearms, stolen-property crimes
A Fredericton man who pleaded not guilty earlier this year to drug-trafficking and stolen-property charges changed his tune Wednesday, admitting to a long list of crimes.
Jason Mollins, 40, of Emmerson Street, elected in March to be tried in provincial court and entered not-guilty pleas to numerous charges arising from police raids at two residences in Fredericton on Nov. 30.
He denied counts of possession of methamphetamines, cocaine, hydromorphone and fentanyl, all for the purpose of trafficking; breaches of a prohibition against possessing firearms and other weapons; possession of a loaded, prohibited handgun without authorization or a licence; and possession of various stolen items, including a TYM tractor with snowblower belonging to Patterson Sales; three snowblowers and a wood chipper belonging to Yard Gear.
Mollins’ trial on those charges was expected to last several days, and it was scheduled to take place piecemeal over the course of several months, beginning in late October.
