Fentanyl seized in southside bust - cops
Fredericton Police Force says drug investigation led to man’s arrest earlier this month
One man is facing a potential drug-trafficking charge after police arrested him two weeks ago and seized a significant quantity of fentanyl, the Fredericton Police Force reports.
The force issued a news release Monday afternoon, stating that its integrated enforcement unit arrested a 42-year-old man March 12 on Fredericton’s south side and seized 52.73 grams of fentanyl.

The suspect was released subject to the conditions of a police undertaking with a promise to appear in court in May, the release said, and it’s expected he’ll face one count of possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.
The arrest and seizure arose in the course of a drug-trafficking investigation, though the release didn’t indicate if they were the result of a targeted operation or execution of a search warrant.
It noted there are integrated enforcement units attached to all nine municipal police forces in the province, and the units are comprised of officers from those forces, Mounties and peace officers with the Department of Justice and Public Safety.
The units focus on the disruption of violence, firearms use and the illicit drug trade.
