Federal parolee sought on warrant
Jacob James Phillips, 23, is considered to be unlawfully at large, say Fredericton police
A federal parolee who’s wanted on a Canada-wide warrant is believed to be in the Fredericton region, police report, and he appears to be following the case online.
The Fredericton Police Force issued an advisory through social media Tuesday afternoon about Jacob James Phillips, 23.
He’s a federal parolee who’s wanted on a warrant for an alleged violation of the conditions of his early release from prison.
“Police believe that Phillips may possibly be in the Fredericton region,” the force said.
Phillips is described as being about 5’10” tall, weighing about 170 pounds, with brown eyes and hair.
Police released a low-resolution photo that appeared to be a mugshot as well.
Someone with a Facebook profile for a “Jake Phillips” in Fredericton, with a matching date of birth listed, changed the profile picture to the low-res mugshot about a half hour after the police advisory went public.
The police force is urging anyone with information about Phillips’ whereabouts to call 911 or its general line at 506-460-2300.
