A drug trafficker on parole went into hiding after he thought officials were going to revoke his release because he was terrified of being beaten by guards behind bars again, a court heard Wednesday.
Scott Alexander Morrison, 43, of Sylvan Court in Fredericton, appeared by telephone from the Southeast Regional Correctional Centre in Campbellton to answer to an April 5 charge of being unlawfully at large in violation of a federal sentence.
Defence counsel Michael Mallory said his client was pleading guilty and was seeking to proceed directly to sentencing.
