A Fredericton man’s temper exploded Tuesday as he appeared in court by telephone, calling the judge a “pig whore” before hanging up, but he was respectful and calm in person and in custody the next day.

Joshua Daniel Grant Burden, 49, of no fixed address, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by telephone Tuesday from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre

He was scheduled to elect mode of trial and enter pleas on recent charges alleging a break-in and unlawful entry.

Burden’s accused of breaking into and stealing from a Department of Transportation and Infrastructure bridge yard on Currie Avenue on Fredericton’s north side May 12, and entering a St. Mary’s Street residence unlawfully with intent to commit an offence and possessing stolen Government of New Brunswick cards, both on May 13.
