Durham Bridge collision claims one life
RCMP reports 37-year-old Harvey woman died in two-vehicle accident Saturday evening
A 37-year-old woman from Harvey died at the scene of a two-vehicle collision in Durham bridge on Saturday night, the RCMP reports.
“On Aug. 24, 2024, at approximately 7 p.m., members of the Keswick RCMP detachment responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 148 in Durham Bridge,” the Mounties said in a news release issued Sunday afternoon.
“The driver of the first vehicle died at the scene as a result of her injuries.”
It said the passenger in the deceased driver’s vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the driver and three passengers in the other vehicle sustained various injuries.
“The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver of the first car lost control of the vehicle and swerved into oncoming traffic,” the release said.
The RCMP didn’t release the names of the woman who died or any of the others who were injured.
The release said personnel with the Nashwaak Valley Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick attended the scene, as did an RCMP collision reconstructionist, and a member of the New Brunswick Coroner's Office is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
